Respondents were willing to pay a premium of $3.51 (23%) and $3.97 (26%) per 12-ounce bottle for organic and pesticide-free elderberry juice, respectively, over conventionally produced options.

In addition to production methods, the origin of the elderberries also played a significant role in consumer decision-making. Respondents expressed a 99.7% higher likelihood of choosing elderberry juice made from American-grown fruit over European-sourced elderberries, potentially driven by a preference for local or domestic ingredients.

Sustainability Considerations

The survey findings also highlighted the growing importance of sustainability in consumer purchasing decisions. Elderberry juice products with a carbon-neutral claim were 94.1% more likely to be chosen by respondents, who were willing to pay a premium of $1.91 (13%) per bottle for this attribute. This trend reflects the increasing consumer demand for environmentally conscious products and their willingness to support brands that prioritize sustainable practices.
